Join Us for The Post Dispensary’s Patient Drive Event in Beaver Dam on August 9, 2025 from 10am-3pm

The Post Dispensary, Kentucky’s first fully approved medical cannabis dispensary, is thrilled to announce our Patient Drive Event on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at our location at 300 N Main St., Beaver Dam, KY 42320. This exciting event marks a historic moment for our community and the Commonwealth of Kentucky as we celebrate the dawn of medical cannabis access under Senate Bill 47. We invite you to join us for a day of education, connection, and empowerment as we work together to make medical cannabis accessible to those who need it most.
A Milestone for Kentucky’s Medical Cannabis Program
The Post Dispensary is proud to lead the way as the first dispensary approved to operate in Kentucky, a significant step forward in ensuring that Kentuckians with serious medical conditions have access to safe, high-quality medical cannabis. Located in the heart of Beaver Dam, our dispensary is strategically positioned to serve Ohio County and surrounding areas, including Owensboro, Hartford, and beyond. Governor Andy Beshear’s announcement on July 31, 2025, highlighted our approval as a pivotal moment in Kentucky’s medical cannabis journey, and we’re honored to be at the forefront of this transformative movement.
Our Patient Drive Event is designed to bring the community together, provide education about medical cannabis, and offer an affordable opportunity for qualifying patients to take the first step toward obtaining their medical cannabis card. Whether you’re a patient seeking relief, a caregiver supporting a loved one, or a community member curious about Kentucky’s medical cannabis program, this event is for you.
What to Expect at the Patient Drive Event
Our Patient Drive Event is more than just an opportunity to learn about medical cannabis—it’s a chance to connect with our knowledgeable staff, meet registered practitioners, and engage with your neighbors in a welcoming, supportive environment.
1. Affordable Medical Cannabis Evaluations for $99
We understand that accessing medical cannabis starts with obtaining a medical cannabis card, and we’re committed to making this process as affordable and straightforward as possible. During the event, registered practitioners—physicians or advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) authorized by the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program—will be on-site to conduct evaluations for only $99. This is a significant discount compared to standard rates, which can range up to $200 or more in some areas.
To qualify for a medical cannabis card, patients must have a qualifying medical condition, such as chronic pain, cancer, PTSD, or multiple sclerosis. During your evaluation, the practitioner will review your medical history, discuss your condition, and issue a written certification if you qualify. This certification is a key step in applying for your Kentucky medical cannabis card through the state’s Patient and Caregiver Registry Portal, which opened on January 1, 2025.
To prepare for your evaluation, bring any relevant medical records or proof of a qualifying condition and your identification. Our staff will be available to guide you through the process and answer any questions about the application, which requires a $25 state fee and can be submitted via the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program website (kymedcan.ky.gov).
2. Meet The Post Dispensary Staff
At The Post Dispensary, we pride ourselves on our compassionate, knowledgeable team dedicated to patient care. During the event, you’ll have the chance to meet our staff, learn about our commitment to quality and safety, and discover how we’re working to ensure that every patient finds the right medical cannabis products for their needs. From flower to edibles and concentrates, all our products are grown, processed, and tested in Kentucky to meet the state’s rigorous standards.
Our team is here to educate and empower you, whether you’re new to medical cannabis or an experienced patient. We’ll provide information on the benefits and risks of medical cannabis, safe usage, and how to navigate Kentucky’s regulations, such as the prohibition on home cultivation and restrictions on THC content (no more than 35% for raw plant material and 10 mg per serving for edibles).
3. Connect with the Beaver Dam Community
The Patient Drive Event is also a celebration of our vibrant Beaver Dam community. Nestled in Ohio County, Beaver Dam is a welcoming town with a rich history and a strong sense of togetherness. We’re excited to bring neighbors together to learn about medical cannabis, share stories, and build a supportive network for patients and caregivers. Whether you’re a local resident or driving in from nearby Owensboro (just a 35-minute scenic drive via I-165 S and US-231 S), you’ll feel right at home.
We’ll have light refreshments, informational booths, and opportunities to connect with community members who are also exploring medical cannabis as a treatment option. This is a chance to ask questions, dispel myths, and learn how medical cannabis can improve quality of life for those with qualifying conditions.
Why This Event Matters
Kentucky’s medical cannabis program, established under Senate Bill 47, represents a commitment to providing safe, regulated access to medical cannabis for patients with serious medical conditions. The Post Dispensary is proud to be part of this historic rollout, which began with the state accepting applications for dispensary licenses on July 1, 2024, and culminated in our approval to open this fall.
However, we know that access to medical cannabis is only meaningful if patients can navigate the process with ease. That’s why we’re offering affordable evaluations and personalized support during the Patient Drive Event. We also recognize that rural communities like Beaver Dam may face unique challenges in accessing healthcare, which is why we’re committed to being a trusted resource for Ohio County and beyond. With only one dispensary allowed per county in Kentucky’s initial rollout, our location at 300 N Main St. is strategically positioned to serve the Green River Area Development District.
